(last updated: Saturday April 29, 2006)

Callahanicon Annex 2006 is in Raleigh, North Carolina, July 14-16. We've arranged hotel rooms at the Glenwood Crabtree Inn - $45.00 for a standard room (1 queen with small sitting area or 2 double beds), $109.00 for a suite (2 room suite with king bed and couch that is not a sofa bed). If you get the room with 1 queen, there does appear to be floor room if you wish to share. I do have 2 queen and 1 twin blowup mattresses. These will be loaned out first come, first serve. The address is 6619 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612 (map). (It was previously a Best Western.) Their phone number is (919) 782-8650. Make sure you specify that you're with "The Callahan Family Reunion" (or they'll charge you more).

The hotel offers a wired high speed internet connections, continental breakfast, and workout room. Let us know what your confirmation number is when you book a room. Also, let us know if you'd like to share a room, or if you have a room to share. If you'd like to arrange to share transportation, we'd like to help with that, too. There's a form for all of your pertinent info - please fill it out even if you're local to the Raleigh area, so that we can get an accurate count.

Activities

Thursday
For those of you arriving early, it's just a general "meet `n greet". The hotel is across from Walmart. Just down the road from Best Buy and several other stores. There is a Wendy's right next door and other food outings can be arranged as needed.
Friday
More arrivals, more "meet `n greet" - the day is pretty much free-form. Dinner will probably be at a local Mongolian grill called "Crazy Fire". For those who came in 2003, it's the same place but probably a different location. It's usually $9.95 for all you can eat, drinks are $1.45, then tax. I've got a call in to see if we can get a group discount. These details may change. Stay tuned. Let us know if you'd like to go. Also, there is a local theater that shows RHPS at midnight on Fridays. Folks who attended in 2003 said it was great. We're open to suggestions on filling the gap between Crazy Fire and RHPS.
Saturday
We're discussing lots of options - a local zoo, Exploris with Imax, planetarium, museums, flea market, farmer's market, used book store, etc. The Wizard of Oz is also showing at the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. Let us know what you'd prefer.
Saturday night
There will be a cookout Saturday night at Sunruner and 1truejim's place. (Kid and cat friendly.) Menu is to be determined. Let us know if you have other dietary requirements. Also, we're looking for volunteers to help with food prep, cooking, cleanup, etc.
Sunday
Breakfast, hugs, goodbyes, etc. For those who are hanging around until Monday, we'll make it up as we go along.
